We won't be homeless!

Were exhausted from the fires. Yesterday we were getting ready to go to a BBQ while watching the news closely. We realized the fire had jumped the freeway from Yorba Linda to Anaheim Hills. While watching the first structure in Anaheim Hills burn we realize it's the apartments were supposed to be moving to this Thursday. We started packing up our important documents and things we need, for an overnight evacuation. Once we got down the hill traffic was gridlocked. I wish I had my camera handy because it was unbelievable. It took us 2 hours to go about 2 miles. The fire was 1/2 mile behind us with the wind blowing it toward us, and we were sitting in dead stop traffic with thousands of others. We eventually made it to our friends home in Placentia, thank you Eric and Renee to opening your home up to us. We stayed the night there along with his mom, niece, sister-in-law, brother, and their cat and dog. They all were also evacuated from Yorba Linda. We returned home today and our current home was intact. The air is clean because of the wind direction. We went looking for a place to live and signed a lease this afternoon. A lot of the apartment communities here are offering deals for The Cascade residents. Since we were supposed to move there this week they included us in the deal. So we are moving on Friday. And ironically the place is a lot nicer, way more closet and storage space, newer, a better layout, and has new cabinets and granite counters. So I guess everything does happen for a reason. We are just thankful we didn't move last week into the Cascades, and loose everything. As far as we know all of our friends who were evacuated have returned home and their houses were saved. God bless all of the families who lost homes and businesses.
This was taken not far from our house.

This was taken yesterday afternoon out of our bedroom window. This is the hills in Yorba Linda right off the freeway if you could see through the smoke.

Taken directly above our house.
Taken from the front yard a few hours before we evacuated.

Wow, those pictures are so scary! I can't believe how fast these fires have spread and caused damage. I am SO glad you guys have a place to move into now also! I can't believe the other place actually burned down. So stressful. I got your message. We were in Babies R Us loading up our new jogging stroller. Sorry I haven't called you back yet. Thanks for calling and thinking of me today. You have been on my mind too. I'm glad you are all okay!

Stay safe and away from the fires!
