Crashing and Anxiety!

So I have been working my butt off training for my 1st triathlon which is going to be here shortly and I hope I'm ready?!?! I got a new bike for the race, it's called a hybrid, which is a mixture of a mountain bike and road bike I guess. I got some great shoes for spin class where my shoes snap into the pedals. So we decided to put snap in pedals on my bike also. My first time riding it I forgot my feet were attached to it, I went to stop and fell like a tree falling over. Later during the ride I unsnapped my foot and went to put it on the ground, fell again. I tried putting the wrong foot down. Later that week I was getting comfortable with it. I knew my days of falling were over. I was trying to u-turn on a narrow path and decided to go off of the path into rocks and gravel. I went down hard. It's been over 2 weeks and my knee still hurts and I have finally lost the scab on my arm but will have a nice scar for a memory.

This was right after I did it. It ended up looking much worse 2 days later.

Last weekend we went to the river and I think the pictures of my wake boarding crash speak for themselves. (Our new camera shoots 6 frames per second)

I tried to swim in the river to prepare for the swim portion of my race, I FREAKED out!!! So I swam 10 feet and jumped on top of Jody and her raft and refused to get back in the water. I had a full on anxiety attack hyperventilating and all. I'm freaking out right now just thinking about it. I have a fear of putting my face in water when I can't see what's in front of me. Unfortunately the race is in Lake Mead and I HAVE to put my face in the water. But the rest of the trip was nice!

What a scary thing having your feet strapped to the pedals! Glad you are getting the hang of it. :)
